Sunningdale – 8kW Hybrid Solar Installation

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The client requirements were as follows:

• Most of the house to be covered during power outages.
• Wanted to start with the right inverter so that more panels and batteries could be added at a later stage, when/if needed.
• Wanted to be able to control the geyser and aquaponics system remotely.

SITE ANALYSIS

This was a straightforward installation with enough roof space.

SOLUTION

We quoted the client on an 8kW Sunsynk, 2x 5kWh Greenrich batteries and 9x 500W JA Solar panels. We also quoted her on 2x geyser timers for her geyser and aquaponic system, as well as 2x outside plugs.

The client accepted the quote, excluding one battery. Client only went with 1x 5kWh Greenrich battery, which was possible since the battery is rated 1.5C. We also installed the two timers and the outside plugs.

TIMELINE AND MILESTONES

• The inverter and batteries, plus the plugs took 1 day.
• The panels took another day, and the geyser timers took half an day (as per client request, this was only done a week after the install was completed).
• Overall, the main installation took 2 days.

CONCLUSION

The client was very happy and will be using us for all her electrical work in the future. Every problem that she had; we had a solution for.
